LEATHER: A NATURAL BY-PRODUCT
Leather is a no-waste by-product of the food industry. Hides and skins come from animals raised for meat and dairy — not for leather. Without tanning, millions of hides would end up in landfills, creating environmental challenges.
By converting hides into leather, we extend the life of this natural material and prevent waste.
Collagen is the key protein that, once stabilized through tanning, becomes strong, durable leather. Other proteins like keratin and globular proteins are removed during processing.
